Today’s Mealow on Product Hunt: How to Try It
In short
- Today’s Mealow launched on Product Hunt on October 6, 2026.
- The tagline: “Can’t decide what to eat? A cat picks 3 dishes nearby.”
- To try it, open the site, pick a way to eat, answer a few questions and read the three picks.
- On the listing I asked one thing back: which questions you’d want the cat to ask.

On October 6, 2026, I put Today’s Mealow on Product Hunt. It’s the site where makers post new products and people try them, upvote them and leave comments. This post is for anyone who found it there and wants to know what happens after they click through.
What does the Product Hunt listing for Today’s Mealow say?
The Product Hunt listing for Today’s Mealow uses the tagline “Can’t decide what to eat? A cat picks 3 dishes nearby.” It lists a few quick questions and three picks from real places near you. It also mentions no sign-up, English and Chinese, a WeChat Mini Program and free food wheels.
The listing is on Product Hunt’s Today’s Mealow page. I wrote the tagline to fit the moment it’s for. Someone is hungry, can’t pick, and wants an answer short enough to act on. Everything else on the listing is a detail of that one promise.
How do you try Today’s Mealow from Product Hunt?
To try Today’s Mealow from Product Hunt, click through to the site and choose one of six ways to eat. Answer a few quick questions about the meal, your mood and what you skip. Then read the three picks, each with a place name, a distance and a one-line reason.
- Open the site. The link on the listing goes to mealow.app. Nothing to install and no account to make.
- Allow your location. The cat needs it to find places near you. Without it, it can’t pick from real places.
- Pick a way to eat. A proper meal, pretty plates, staying in, drinks, dessert or fruit.
- Answer the questions. A proper meal asks six: what cuisine, which meal, how you’re feeling, what flavor you want, who you’re with and where, and what you don’t eat. Other ways of eating ask fewer.
- Read the three picks. Each card names a dish, the place that serves it and how far away it is, with a reason tied to your answers.
- Swap if none fits. “Show me others” brings three more for the same answers.
For this post I went through the steps above as a new visitor would, starting from Chicago’s Loop. I chose pretty plates, which asks fewer questions: who it’s for, what vibe, and what to skip. I answered date night and city chic. The greeting said “A sleek brunch date for two, city vibes,” and the picks were brioche French toast, berry pancakes and a smoked salmon Benedict.
For a date I’d take the Benedict. It’s the one savory plate of the three, and two people can split something sweet afterwards. If you’re the one choosing the place, the post on picking a restaurant covers how to make that call fairly.
Which way of eating should a first-time visitor try?
A first-time visitor to Today’s Mealow should start with “A proper meal” if it’s around lunch or dinner, since it asks the most and gives the most tailored picks. For a quick treat, dessert, drinks or fruit ask fewer questions. Pretty plates suits a date or a meal you want to remember.
Staying in is for nights you’d rather order than go out. It asks about the style of food and what you skip, then picks dishes you can have brought to you. Each way of eating has its own questions, so the same evening can give very different picks depending on where you start.

Start with a proper mealWhat did I ask Product Hunt users?
On the Product Hunt listing, I asked people which questions they’d want Today’s Mealow to ask. The questions are the product. They decide what the cat knows about you before it picks, so a missing question means a pick that can’t account for something that matters to you.
My launch comment explained where the app came from: it started as a WeChat Mini Program in China, and the listing is for the web version. Then I asked that one question. If you have an answer, the Product Hunt comments are one place for it, and the email on the about page is another. The story of how the app was built is in the post on the Present of AI profile.
What else is on the site besides the cat’s picks?
Besides the cat’s picks, Today’s Mealow has free tools that need no questions. There are food wheels you spin, and random generators that hand you a dish, a cuisine or a restaurant type. The Product Hunt listing mentions them because some people would rather leave it to chance.
All of them live on the tools page. They’re useful when two people can’t agree and want something neutral to decide, or when you only need a nudge, not a full set of picks.
