What is Today’s Mealow?
Today’s Mealow (今食喵, or just Mealow) is a free food picker for when you can’t decide what to eat. Pick a way to eat and answer a few quick questions: what style, who you’re with, what you skip. Mealow looks up real places near you on Google Maps (Amap in China), and an AI picks 3 dishes from them, each with the place’s name. It works in English and Chinese with no sign-up, and as a WeChat Mini Program. Made by Ziwei Yu.
How the cat picks
Four steps, from picking a way to eat to your 3 dishes.
Choose how you want to eatA proper meal, a drink, dessert and three more.
Answer a few questionsCuisine, who you’re with, and what you skip.
It finds real places near youIt checks the map for nearby places, their ratings and what they’re known for. When the map lists no dishes, the dish is a likely guess for that kind of place, so check the menu.
It picks 3 dishes from those placesThe AI only picks from that list. Code removes any dish whose name matches something you skip. It can’t see every ingredient, so if you have an allergy, check with the place.
